Concentration Ideas/Notes...

Inspired by my sister's approaching wedding this past year, I decided to futher explore the idea of marriage through means of my concentration. Taking pictures at her wedding, I documented the bond formed between two individuals and the promise of their everlasting commitment and love. Photographing my sister preparing for the ceremony, walking down the aisle and celebrating her once-in-a-lifetime special day, my concentration is an expression of of lifelong decication. Personnally, event means a lot to because of the close family bond I share with my sister, and also having the chance to welcome another person into my life.

Best of String

This year in Pictures...

This is not necessarily my favorite but it tells a strong story about what is happening right now across the world. The event is that Tens of thousands of anti-government protesters poured into the streets of Egypt to challenge the presidents 30 year old rule. The subject is the police officers trying to control the situation. The thing that emphasizes it is the repetition of the police and their batons.

I think it photo is my favourite because the emotion and subject showing in the picture. The event of this picture if the evacuation of the girls' city "Barrio Del Carmen". In this event 800 people were moved from their homes to flee the flooding prompted by rains pelting the country. This image tells a story the story of the little girl having to help her people with putting metal pipes around to help the homes from severely flooding. The subject in this photo in the little girl, the thing that emphasizes the subject is depth of field, making the viewer focused more on the subject and less on what's around her.

What is a Great Photo?

For me what makes a great photo can be the composition, the way you look portray a scene, emotion, the subject, the elements, the colours, etc... but one of the main things for me that makes a photograph great is the ability to create an emotional connection with a viewer. Each and every time your photography is viewed it is judged again by a completely different set of eyes, mind and thoughts then by the previous viewer. You will never connect with them all, but strive to connect with just one, and you'll have changed the world even just for a moment.
